Our team has specialist expertise in all areas of policy wording and coverage disputes. We regularly advise insurers, underwriting agents and coverholders on policy coverage, avoidance, material non-disclosure and all other associated issues.

We are noted in the Chambers guide to the legal profession as “standing out” for our assistance on policy coverage issues and were involved in the leading case of Kosmar Villa Holidays v Trustees of Syndicate 1243, concerning Conditions Precedent.

Hextalls Law has more recently provided training to insurers, brokers, coverholders and underwriting agencies on the Insurance Act 2015 and the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010.

We also advise on other associated issues such as, breach of underwriting authority and the operation of binding authorities. We are regularly instructed by insurers to review policy wordings and assist with drafting conditions and endorsements. Our clients include some leading insurers and Lloyds syndicates.
